Emir Münir Sarpyener completed his undergraduate degree in Business Administration at Marmara Üniversitesi and his Master’s degree in Business Administration/International Finance at The American University Washington D.C.

Throughout his 32-year-long career in the financial sector — where he started as a banker and later continued as a research analyst — Sarpyener has held various positions at both domestic and international institutions, and has served in managerial roles in research departments. In 2004, he assumed the role of CEO at Raymond James Yatırım Menkul Kıymetler A.Ş., transformed the company into one of the leading players in the Turkish Capital Markets, and was later appointed as a member of the institution’s board of directors.

Between 2014 and 2021, he worked in the field of Portfolio Management. He served as Portfolio Manager and Business Development Director at Aura Portföy Yönetimi A.Ş. and left the institution in 2021.

As of October 2021, Sarpyener assumed the role of General Manager at Tera Yatırım Menkul Değerler A.Ş., where he had begun serving as Board Advisor. In addition to his role as General Manager, he has served as a Board Member since April 2023 and, as of 2025, continues to serve as CEO and Board Member of the company.

In addition to research and asset management, he has marketed Turkish assets and debt instruments to numerous institutional investors across different geographies around the world, the research and sales departments he has worked in and led have been ranked in ratings conducted by international institutions, he has personally taken part in many primary and secondary offerings, has been involved in numerous initial public offerings and block sales, and has played an active role in mergers and acquisitions.
