Prof. Dr. Kerem Alkin completed his undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Business Administration of İstanbul Üniversitesi (1987) and his Master’s and PhD degrees at the Department of Economics of the İstanbul Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü (1993). He is a graduate of Saint-Michel Fransız Lisesi and speaks French and English.
 
Kerem Alkin retired from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 16 January 2025. He served as Türkiye’s Permanent Representative and Ambassador to the OECD between 15 March 2021 and 18 October 2024. Following his retirement, he returned to his academic work as a faculty member at the İstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi İşletme ve Yönetim Bilimleri Fakültesi as of 30 January 2025.
 
Kerem Alkin served as Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Management Sciences at İstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi between 2015 and 2021 and previously served as Head of the International Trade and Finance Department at the same faculty.
 
Since 19 September 2025, he has continued his academic work as Dean of the Faculty of Communication at the İstanbul Topkapı Üniversitesi.
 
Throughout his career, Kerem Alkin has held numerous senior roles across the public, academic, and private sectors, assuming important responsibilities including Chairmanship of the YENADER (2020–2024), Membership on the Board of Directors at Türkiye Halk Bankası (2020–2021), Secretary-General of the Türkiye İhracatçılar Meclisi (2018–2020), and Membership on the Board of Directors at the Turkey Wealth Fund (2017–2018).
 
Known for his academic and economic work, Prof. Dr. Kerem Alkin has many years of experience in the fields of Türkiye’s economic policies, international relations, competitiveness, and finance. He has served as a faculty member at various universities, has served on numerous boards and committees, and has represented Türkiye on national and international platforms.
